Making these minor adjustments to conventional building materials can notably decrease your exposure to harmful Red List materials, VOCs, and other harmful chemicals that affect human and environmental well-being. Below are guidelines that are critical to our evaluation process for each brand or product included.
BREATHE EASY: We’ve done our best to minimize harmful VOCs and Redlist chemicals, while specifying more natural finishes, and air-cleansing products, such as sustainable hemp.
ETHICALLY SOURCED: Primarily North American manufacturing facilities with environmentally friendly practices + ethical employee guidelines.
CLIMATE-SENSITIVE PRODUCTS: Materials that minimize their effect on, or do not contribute to, the GWP (global warming potential). Many of our recommendations are bio-based products.
The catalog also includes the Declare Label, Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), and/or Health Product Declaration (HPD) for each product (when available). These documents include the list of ingredients and are third-party verified
